Gough Island, the Senior Research Assistant

Long-running project of research and protection management requires two candidates on the island of Gough's Gough Island in the South-Central Atlantic, 13 months, an additional 1-2 months of training to go. the 15-month contract positions are available to undertake challenging work for Gough Island World Heritage site, which is threatening invasive mice and plants. The selected post holders is a small weather station next to the institution from complying with the invasive Gough Island, steep cliffs and eradication measures, as well as corresponding to the work of the albatrosses and petrels, captive management and staging the two endemic bird species on the baseline information for the monitoring of the invertebrate abundance and vegetation monitoring.

SA Rand 120000 pa + food and accommodation.
