This is a really exciting time to join the RSPB. We are the largest wildlife conservation organisation in Europe with over one million members, and we're currently writing our strategy defining what we will need to do to protect birds and wildlife through to 2020. We speak out for birds and wildlife, tackling the problems that threaten our environment, and as a charity need to raise the income that is critical to enable us to do that. Our Trading business delivers 100% of the profit it makes to fund our conservation work and retail is a major income stream to help ensure that there is money available to do the work we need to do. As our Retail Development Manager you will give us your vision, determination and drive to lead the retail team and develop the business. We will provide you with a unique working environment and a very special reason for getting out of bed every morning. Nature is amazing, join us and you will be helping to keep it that way. Thinking strategically comes naturally to you, combining your commercial knowledge, creativity, leadership and financial skills to make a compelling and coherent business case. You will have a great retail track record, with a focus on achieving results in your current business whilst also having an eye out for new commercial opportunities for significant growth. You'll be a brilliant communicator who believes that working together adds value and will be able to lead and motivate your own team, but also inspire other colleagues to support your plans. A career history which combines multi-site management as well as operations experience to develop our HQ functions is also essential.
