Description:
Assists in the planning, forecasting, implementation, and identification of resource requirements for network systems (including wireless) of moderate complexity. Participates in network planning, network architecture design and engineering. Integrates and schematically depicts communication architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission and signaling links and protocols into complete network configurations. Evaluates new products, performs network problem resolution and assists in the development and documentation of technical standards and interface applications. Monitors protocol compatibility, performs system tuning and makes recommendations for improvement
Responsibilities & Duties:
The South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce (SC DEW) is in the process of multiple information technology initiatives within their agency, and is requesting resources to assist in the coordination and finalization of contingency planning and business impact analysis.
The network engineer must have excellent research, communication, analysis, network, and audit skills in order to effectively execute their responsibilities. Prior knowledge of the agency?s systems and processes is preferred.
The resources are required on a part time basis. The specific work schedule and hours of the resource(s) will planned with the Department of Employment and Workforce team.
This engagement is to support a DEW project and the selected contractor resource will be providing network analysis and audit services to assist the agency?s ongoing contingency planning project.
Contractor will provide these services on site at the DEW Columbia, SC offices and remotely as deemed appropriate by the team.
