Project Assistant

Location: All Uists, based Benbecula, Western Isles. Occational work in Barra and Harris may also be required.


This is an exciting opportunity to work on an RSPB managed LIFE + project across the Hebrides. You will assist in the daily running of the Conserving Scottish Machair LIFE+ project based in Benbecula. You will carry out agricultural work in relation to key species and crofting agricultural practice across the Uists, reporting to the Project Manager. You will undertake the maintenance and upkeep of project machinery, take part in crofting land habitat surveys and data collection, and implement and monitor work progressed through the projects' objectives. You will also work in conjunction with the Uist Goose management scheme which carries out crop protection.You will have practical agricultural experience and good communication skills and be prepared to work week-ends and after hours. This project is part funded by the EU LIFE fund.


£17,000 to £19,000 pa
